Myostatin: Myostatin is a growth differentiation factor. It's produced in skeletal muscle cells and it's involved in muscle enlargement. Mutations in humans that reduce myostatin production can result in muscle enlargement. This has been followed with great interest by the agricultural industry (as a way to help "beef up" their beef).
