Probably normal: Endometrial biopsy is performed to rule out endometrial hyperplasia (possible precursor to endometrial ca) or endometrial ca, which is increased in women with chronic anovulatory cycles (pcos). It usually takes more than a few years for such endometrial pathology to develop, and use of hormonal contraceptives or regular withdrawal bleeds with Progesterone decrease this risk.
