Pain fibers linked: Gastric and cardiac pain fibers and the location of the organs are such that gastric pain can radiate up to the chest and create confusion. Best bet is to change the behavior which is creating the gastritis in a young individual.

Acid reflux: Very common that gastritis is accompanied by acid reflux into the esophagus that causes chest pain.
