Nerves: Numbness is caused by nerves being irritated or pinched. These nerves can be pinched in the periphery, such as at the wrist or ankle, or they can pinched as they exit the spine. With both upper and lower extremities having consistent symptoms i would recommend evaluation by a health professional to rule out a general nerve health problem called polyneuropathy.
