No: In usa we call it tinea versicolor or pityriasis versicolor. Some people (genetic) are more susceptable. It is worse in hot, humid environment such as indonesia. Otc antifungal cream such as Miconazole will help. Selenium and zinc pyrethium shampoos can be left on the skin for a few hours & can be used in the shower. Oral azole is best: 1 or 2 doses of Fluconazole or ketoconazole will clear it for.
