Post-traumatic stres: Your symptoms sounds like it's possible you're dealing with post-traumatic stress. This is very uncomfortable for you, yet recovery is possible. Find a good therapist you can relate to -- possibly one with military experience. Ask your local va for referrals. The therapist needs to know emdr (eye movement desensitization & reprocessing), a way of helping move through painful emotion.

You may have post: Traumatic stress symptoms or possibly post traumatic stress disorder. This can be evaluated through the department of veterans affairs. Whether you have unpleasant symptoms or an actual diagnosable condition, treatment can help. The gold standard is cognitive processing therapy. Emdr can be of some benefit for complex ptsd. Virtual reality exposure therapy is excellent.
