Start with shampoos: If you have a lot of scale and flaking in your scalp, try using t/gel or Nizoral (ketoconazole) shampoo to stop the itching.

Change hair products: First one needs to find out the cause for the itching and allergic sensitization to hair products comes to mind. If the itching is so intense, consider asking your doctor to see if a topical cortisone solution may offer temporary help until the cause can be established. A dermatology consult may well be in order.
