Over the counter: Yeast infections can easily be treated with over the counter yeast medications. It is not related to episodic bleeding.

Yeast: Yeast infections are very common and can happen at any time. Anything that reduces your immune system or blood sugar like diabetes may cause this. Pregnancy naturally reduces some immune components so its common.
