Specializes in surgery

Variable: The stents in general last a long time! but the trauma and disease may lead to in-stent narrowing clotting, occlusion and need for more intervention or surgery. The continued research is to make the results last longer!

Average?: Hard to say....Life long but reintervention could vary from less than 10% to 25% depending on type of stent.
