Perimenopasue: Well your ovaries are sputtering and they produce the hormones like estrogen that dictate to your uterus it's bleeding pattern. As the hormone levels fluctuate so do symptoms. Drops in estrogen can cause hot flashes and night sweats. They usually get more pronounced once your periods have stopped, and after one year without a period we call that menopause.
