A member asked:

In my medical report, done after 1 yr of exposure: serology hbsag (australian antigen) : negative hiv i : negative hiv ii : negative screening tes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, negative: I assume this question is about serial tests for infections after an exposure. After a year, almost everyone who has acquired HIV will have developed an antibody response, so we take a negative HIV antibody test as evidence that someone did not acquire hiv. No evidence of chronic hepatitis b either if the surface antigen is not detected. There is a vaccine for hepatitis b.
