No it's not normal: Phentermine does not cause chest pain. I suggest you have this checked out by the doctor prescribing it. Weight loss is not easy and you would want to combine exercise and better food choices as you try to lose while on phentermine. But get that chest symptom checked out first.

Appetite Suppressant: Phentermine is a stimulant. As such it can cause chest pain if you have a previously undiagnosed heart condition. It can do this by increasing your heart rate, blood pressure or causing an abnormal heart rhythm. Also, if you just started dieting and exercising you may have injured your chest causing the soreness. Do not ignore these symptoms. See the doctor that prescribed the medication.
