Varies a lot!: The duration of Suboxone maintenance varies from individual to individual. The average interval is 6-24 months.

Open ended: A general answer to the question, "how long should I stay on suboxone?" would not do justice to the uniqueness of this therapy. In the ideal world a few weeks or months and then stop & some do succeed. However, as long as potential for harm is higher from being on vs off, the on option is preferred. Everyone should be given a chance to get off, when they are ready to get off.

Depends on reason: Why are you taking Suboxone ? Prescribed for pain management or for Opiate addiction? Risk involve if you stop your medication / if continue your medication ? What your prescribed doctor formulation after your assessment ?
