Everybody refluxes: Gerd is defined by symptoms related to an excess of a normal event.(burp, wet burp, spitting up)the spitting up can increase anytime a kid gets worked up, & the process is more readily apparent in some than others. If the older child is not experiencing heartburn symptoms, it is likely just a delay in acquiring the ability to avoid spitting up as he gets older, which is a voluntary & learned skill.
