Within 5 days : Serum HCG starts rising within less than week of conception and is most reliable test to confirm pregnancy.

Varies by brand: Quantitative blood (serum) tests detect HCG levels at 1 miu/ml. This must be ordered by a doctor. Urine tests advertise detection thresholds between 20 and 100 miu/ml, but this depends on the brand. Qualitative blood tests generally have a threshold of 25 miu/ml, and so are less sensitive than some available home pregnancy tests. Time is less important that accuracy and confirmation by physician.
