You did just have: A major surgery in that area. I will defer to the advise of one of my surgical co, llegues but in theabscence of fever or weakness it's likely part of routine recovery to be sore there. If it worsens go in but you likely have pain meds.

Yes: Air left, and not totally evacuated after lap cholecystectomy can cause diaphragmatic irritation and a fullness under the ribs.
