Anatomy: Bronchitis is infection/inflammation of your bronchus, which is the tube that is connected to your throat, which is center of your chest. Pneumonia is when the infection/inflammation reaches into the small sacs of your lung, which is much further down. With pneumonia, most likely you will need antibiotics. You can wait and see on bronchitis, depending on how severe your symtoms are.
