How do you know when your growth plates close?

X-ray: This is usually something that can be determined in a physician's office with a x-ray.

Usually 16 for boys: But it varies. If you haven't grown in a year, it is safe to assume that you are done growing. An xray would show if your plates have closed, but would be overkill unless you were looking for other pathology.
