Mirena (levonorgestrel) use...: Mirena (levonorgestrel) use in patients who have not had a child is safe, and its a recent new indication backed by solid medical information. So its safe and does not increase the risk of infertility, provided you do not develop pelvic inflammatory disease while wearing it.

Not getting preg : Both paragard and Mirena (levonorgestrel) are fda approved for use in women who have had no children. This is very standard with these two iuds unlike iuds from the 1960's. This is a good contraceptive choice for young women.
