SEE A SPECIALIST: Narcolepsy and sleep apnea are sleep disorders with different origins. I would see a sleep specialist, such as a pulmonologist, who can give you the answers to your questions.

Yes: We perform a night time sleep study (psg) to evaluate how well treated your sleep apnea is. This is done on your CPAP device. If everything looks good, a series of naps (mslt) is performed the following day to evaluate for narcolepsy. We look at your sleep staging to see if you enter into rem sleep quickly on these naps. People with narcolepsy have a higher incidence of osa.
