If bleeding: If you are bleeding somewhere in your gastrointestinal tract it can. See your doctor and discuss it further. You will likely need a workup.

Many reasons: Low blood may occur from multiple GI causes. 1.Acute or chronic blood loss from GI tract. Ex- ulcers. 2.Inflammation of gastrointestinal tract may cause anemia. Ex- infectious diarrhea. 3. Malabsorption or the inability to digest some foods, may lead to low levels of certain vitamins and minerals necessary to build red blood cells. Ex- gastric bypass. 4. Lastly GI cancer may cause anemia.
