Heart & brain: We don't have good randomized controlled trials demonstrating benefit of fish oil, aside from lowering triglycerides (at expense of raising LDL cholesterol), but most observational studies suggest benefit with regards to heart health. Some studies suggest brain benefit too but these are less rigorous trials. Better than popping pills is eating wild caught fatty fish (but don't fry it!) regularly.
