A member asked:

How do you get eczema? what happens? is it hereditary?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It gets you.: Eczema is a term sometimes used loosely to mean "dermatitis." in that sense there are a wide variety of eczemas with a variety of causes - many unknown. More strictly, eczema refers to atopic dermatitis which is a partly hereditary disease. Usually presents in childhood and affects skin creases such as inner elbow, etc.
