Spasm: Most likely a fairly simple muscular spasm of very tight or injured para spinal muscles of the back and neck. Bending your head forward (flexion) causes stretching of these muscles and like a rubber band that is stretched too much, the muscles snap back and spasm causing your symptoms. Typical treatment involves careful and purposeful stretching, prescription muscle relaxants and often massage.
