Variable symptoms: Hypercoagulability (thick sticky blood) is more common in crohn's patients and is what leads to the development of blood clots. Blood clots can occur anywhere in the body and symptoms are dependent on where they form. In the legs for example they might cause pain and swelling. If a blood clot spreads to the lungs it is particularly dangerous and could cause chest pain and shortness of breath.
