Water rinse: Aggressively swish water around in your mouth after each snack to remove debris and dilute the levels of sugar. Keep drinking water throughout the day. Avoid soda, as it will only add to the sugar levels and add acid (the carbonation is acid!) to your mouth. Many juices are similar to soda. Avoid them.

No snacks : You should limit your snacks to meal times and brush and floss after meals and before bedtime.

Follow this routine: Brush and floss after all meals (some people do it before). It is most important before you go to sleep to prevent damage over night. Limit snacks, especially those high in refined and sticky sugars and carbohydrates that will linger on your teeth for a long time. Rinse thoroughly after snacks when you cannot brush.
