Bone bruise : Bone bruise below the cartilage. Low intensity, low impact cardiovascular exercise, gentle range of motion and ice. Never apply ice directly to the skin, always over a towel or clothing. Repeat 2-4 times per day. Consider physical therapy if symptoms persist beyond 6-8 weeks.
