Topical antifungals: You should start with over the counter Lamisil (terbinafine) or lotrimin twice a day for 3-6 weeks. Also, make sure you do not have athletes foot as well as these two conditions go together.

Tinea corporis: Tinea corporis (ringworm) is a fungal infection of the skin generally characterized (intially) by a red raised round patch, followed by central clearing and an advancing border. Treatment is with topical antifungals. Patches that have been treated and healing may have a temporary brown discoloration.
