Selsun Blue: Selsun blue contains selenium sulfide. Other shampoo that can treat this condition contains 1% ketoconazole (available over the counter) and 2% ketoconazole (available by prescription). If the tinea versicolor is extensive and not improving with the shampoos, you should visit your dermatologist to start on an oral pill.

Do you recommend 200mg bid of Ketoconozole? And for how long? Also is it best to use a prescription topical or over the counter?
