Generally 2-3 days: The actual incubation period depends on the virus but in general the time between exposure and symptoms with an intestinal virus is 48-72 hours.

A 46-year-old female asked:
What are the symptoms of the stomach virus? How long do you have it? And what to do to get well?

Usually 24 to 48 h: A stomach virus can be caused by many different bugs /viruses. It can be as mild as a little stomach cramping to severe cramping with violet vomiting with diarrhea.. Many times a person refers to a stomach virus as food poisoning. Most of the stomach viruses usually pass in 24 to 48 hours. Drink plenty of fluids, if you're having vomiting or diarrhea you'll need even more fluid. Possibly even a sports nutritional drink to replenish your body with some of the electrolytes it's losing in the diarrhea and the nausea and vomiting. You can also try one of the over-the-counter medications that help with nausea and vomiting and diarrhea. You'll probably want to avoid any significant food intake during this time. Fluids are the most important at this time not food.

It depends: It depends on how healthy you are, how much virus you were exposed to and if you can take fluids easily.
