Mindful consuming...: A burning pain in the epigastrium ("pit of the stomach") is a common symptom referred to as dyspepsia. There are too many causes to address here, but many related to what we put in our mouth. Avoid acidic beverages, fruits and sauces; avoid smoking, alcohol and caffeine; avoid saturated fats, fried foods; avoid overeating; avoid Aspirin and anti-inflammatory drugs. Otc acid blockers bring relief.
