Depends: Without more information, it's hard to be sure. Apthous ulcers may occur on the palate and are painful. These usually go away with no problem. Other infections, irritations (for example, by dentures) and some tumors may also be located here. If there is a lump, you should consider having it checked by your doctor or dentist. Chances are its nothing to worry about.
