how can you tell if your pregnant?

Pregnancy test: You may suspect that you're pregnant based on symptoms such as a missed period, nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, or fatigue. However, these symptoms are not specific for pregnancy. The best way to find out is to take a home pregnancy test. If the test is negative and you still suspect pregnancy, repeat the test again in a week. If the test is positive, see your OB to confirm.

Most reliable?: Blood HCG test, followed by a urine HCG tests. Positive usually will occur within two weeks of conception with the blood test, versus three to four with the urine test. Of course you will miss a period. Women must have had sex when conception could occur!

If you have been: Sexually active it is possible. If you have missed your period - would go ahead and take a home pregnancy test. Take care.

With a urine test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, vaginal spotting, or medications. A test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a negative result may be due to testing too early such as less than 2 weeks after conception.
