A member asked:

If i had unprotected sex with someone who is positive for hepatitis c, they did not ejaculate, what are the chances of the disease being passed on?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Very unlikely: Hepatitis c is not efficiently spread via sex, unlike HIV or hepatitis b. It is more likely when there has been local trauma and bleeding, even if a very small amount. It is also more likely with anal sex because of trauma. Condoms protect against hepatitis c as well as many other sexually transmitted infections. I do recommend people get tested for hep c to be sure they did not get it.
