Only one: The only time a hernia can go away without an operation is when infants have belly button hernias. These usually are all gone by around age 5. Otherwise, the only choice is a surgical procedure. There are many different hernias and techniques of repair however, and finding an experienced hernia surgeon can help define your goals and pick the right option for you. Hope this helps!
