Fair: Function will be impaired but pain should be better after. Need thorough discussion with surgeon about time to heal and realistic outcome. Fair question is also how many has he/she done? Not super common surgery even for hand specialist.

Prc or proximal row: Carpectomy typically allows for excel any return of function with respect to wrist and finger motion. One may expect a period of reduced motion and strengjr but this usually passes as the muscles get used to new length tension relationships. This is a good procedure if used for the proper indications and has been well studied used for arthritis patterns post injury to ligaments or fracture s.
