They are trying: Unfortunately, marijuana contains many many active ingredients with effects on many parts of the body. Each plant contains different amounts of these substances, in different ratios - so dosing, therapeutic, and side effects cannot be predicted with certainty. Researchers are working to isolate and synthesize the components of marijuana that are effective for pain.

Pot is not: A good pain drug. If it was a good pain drug, it would have been on the market for the last 50 years. The truth is that pot is only half a point better than placebo.
