Many things: The most important treatment for allergies is to avoid the trigger if possible. Second line treatment is medications--there are both over the counter and prescription medications that can help. For environmental allergies and asthma triggered by allergies, allergen immunotherapy (allergy shots) are the most effective long term treatment currently available. They are inconvenient, but worth it!
