Define moderation: In my years of taking alcohol and drug histories, the definition of moderate drinking seems to vary quite a bit. While there is some evidence for the benefits or a standard glass of wine per day, risks increase progressively when there is regular use of much more than that. Many people have a binge of up to 4-5 on a rare basis - 4-5 binges a month and it crosses into abuse.
