Fecal contamination: It depends on the parasite. Hook worm larvae penetrate through the skin. Round worm, pinworm, strogyloides, trichiris.Giardia, cryptosporidium are usually due to fecal contamination of food or drink. Tape worms are due to eating of undercooked meats, beef or pork.
