Probably Not: It really depends on what stage the active lesion he had and length of contact. Further, most people have herpes type 1 (the kind tha cause cold sores) but just do not have active outbreaks as often as others. Even if you do not have the virus, the likelihod of getting it from a quick "peck" is very small.

POSSIBLY: The risk of infection to a partner can be high during an outbreak, but some suggest that 95% of infected people will shed the hsv virus-even between outbreaks, while others suggest the risk is low. A cold sore is actively shedding the virus--highly contagious. Soapbox: practice safe sex, use a condom/dam and inform your partner(s). It’s their life you may affect and infect.
