Possibly the jaw: Most headaches that occur while sleeping are related to clenching or grinding your teeth. These headaches typically occur on the sides of the head and forehead and radiate into the ear. You should see your primary doctor and possibly your dentist.

Headaches: Multiple causes. You need to see your primary care specialist for a thorough work up. It could a simple cause of nasal congestion as gravity works against us when we lay down. Think about it. But headaches are difficult to diagnose without a thorough evaluation.
