Is claritin (loratadine) d good for someone with a dust allergy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: Loratidine (claritin) can help, but i find it takes 2 - 4 days to begin to give symptom relief. Ceterizine (zyrtec) is also once/day, and usually helps with the first dose. With either, the generic is just as good. I'm not a fan of longterm decongestants (the "d") - they tend to thicken the congestion and dry you out, plus have lots of side effects. If really stuffy, use plain sudafed x 1-2 days.
