Yes, sometimes: A common reaction (non-allergic) to hot spicy peppers is flushing and sweating. However, itching is a common symptom of true allergic reaction. Theoretically any food can trigger a food allergy and even pepper allergy has been reported. If a person has itching to hot peppers, stop eating them and see an allergist. An allergist is specifically trained to diagnose and treat unusual food allergy.
