A form of biopsy: Fine needle aspirate cytology is one way to diagnose the lesions in an organ. Usually a nodule in organ, such as thyroid, is sampled by aspirating cells with a fine needle and the cells are examined by a pathologists. The usual question is: is it cancer or not cancer.
