Bad breath: Garlic contains some interesting molecules but it's a long way from the petri dish work to real life. I just searched the NIH data base and there's not even any animal work. There are some human epidemiologic studies that merely correlate lung & colon cancer with areas where they eat garlic, independent of pollution & all else; one has increased cancer risk in men. It's very weak science.
