See your urologist: Sexual side effects are common with medications for an enlarged prostate. However, stopping may cause other issues. Go see your doctor and see if you need to switch medicines, change your dose, or discontinue use.

Perhaps: If the treatment is harming quality of life significantly then stopping may be wise. Finasteride can have significant sexual side effects which may persist after stopping. It is best in men with larger (>50 g) prostates. That would be fairly large but not impossible for a 39 year old. Perhaps discuss these symptoms with your prescribing doctor and possible alternatives.
