I keep getting staph infectios and bleeding from self catheterization would i be better of using sounds ?

Do you have ....: Narrowing of urethra? (sounds are used for dilation). If so, perhaps surgery to widen the urethra could be a better option. Unfortunately introducing anything external into the urethra carries a risk of infection. I presume you use excellent aseptic technique, including thorough handwashing cleaning the glans thoroughly w betadine, etc & always use a sterile catheter. Chk w your urologist.
