A member asked:

Lets say i was ovulating and my egg had been fertilized , would i still have that discharge from ovulation ?

Possible, but : Hard to say. The discharge is purely a sign of impending ovulation but informative of much else thereafter. If you are concerned about an unintended pregnancy, Plan B might be an option depending on when intercourse was had. If intercourse occurred within the last 5 days Plan B might still be helpful...

For a few days: The watery discharge that accompanies ovulation ("spinnbarkeut") is a result of the rising estrogen - after a day or two following ovulation (regardless of whether or not fertilization occurred, ) the discharge usually thickens and turns whiter from the newly produced progesterone. Sometime a little bleeding occurs around ovulation - this, too, should cease after a few days.
