Atrial fibrillation: Irregilarly irregular heart rhythms tend to imply atrial fibrillation, which shoud be evaluated by a cardiologist. These can occur in the context of valvular leaking (regurgitation). Other causes include thyroid problems, alcohol or stimulant exposure, cardiac enlargement, sleep apnea, extreme physiologic stress.
